SKYROOM

Backed by technical support for a flawless installation, our Skyrooms cleverly bridge the gap between a conservatory and a high-end orangery and are at the height of innovative contemporary design.

An orangery has features which make it a more luxurious choice than a traditional conservatory. The secret to the Atlas Skyroom’s realistic internal appearance is the solid internal pelmet which instantly changes the look of the room, and with spotlights added, creates the perfect evening lighting. With a 300mm-high aluminium contemporary fascia, the Atlas Skyroom mimmicks the appearance of a contemporary ultra-slim orangery lantern – both internally and externally. And with no unsightly low tie bars or bulky joint covers, the Skyroom guarantees excellent headroom and a simple, uncompromised views to the sky above. With the Atlas Roofs signature 70% slimmer ridge and 30% slimmer rafter, the Skyroom blends design aesthetics, outstanding strength and unrivalled thermal performance – resulting in a unique product and nothing else on the market that looks quite like it.

Intelligent detailing

The key external feature of any orangery is the external cornice (top fascia). The architecturally engineered 300mm high external fascia is a statement of luxury and elegance, giving a full orangery appearance.
Less is definitely more

Unlike any other roof, an Atlas Skyroom has no unsightly rod tie bars or low supports cluttering the roof. The supports guarantee excellent headroom and no intrusion into the space, even in larger rooms. This, combined with the technology eliminating the need for boss or hoods overpowering the ridge, really does give MORE SKY LESS ROOF™.

The unique Atlas system design is created using slim, elegant roof material. Compared to conventional roofs, the Atlas internal ridge width is 70% slimmer and the roof structure is up to 33% stronger.

Admire your skyroom from above

The experienced engineers at Atlas have added a black film to the low level roof glass to conceal the inside of the internal pelmet, when viewed from above or an upstairs window. The purpose designed glazing film is on the inside face of the glass and is tastefully obscured from view at eye level by the external fascia cornice.*

Glass. More than meets the eye.

As standard, Atlas roof glass will be specified to combine heat reflection and thermal insulation utilising Low-E softcoats and Solar control combination coating, with warm edge spacers and argon gas filled cavity. This specification controls the amount of visible light, UV and heat that passes through the glazed unit. Destructive UV rays are reduced by up to 91% with the correct glass specification, thus reducing fading of furniture and fabrics from sun damage. With self-cleaning technology as standard, our glass will require less maintenance.

Solar control glass

This intelligent glass reflects over 60% of the sun’s solar energy, preventing conservatories and rooms with our Roof Lanterns from becoming unbearably hot in summer. Solar glare is reduced too, creating a beautifully ambient environment.

A combination of low emissivity inner glass and argon gas filling means the Atlas solar control glass reduces the thermal transmission by half compared to ordinary double glazing, which reduces energy costs and keeps glazed roof rooms warmer in winter.

Available in Self-Cleaning Solar Neutral and Self-Cleaning Solar Blue. Glass can be upgraded to Sunshield blue which reflects up to 82% of the sun’s solar energy and triple glazing is available to improve centre pane U values down to 0.5W/m2k

Self-cleaning glass

Both our Solar Blue and Solar Neutral Glass have a special self-clean coating with a microscopic film, our self-cleaning glass helps daylight and rainwater break-down, enabling dirt and grime to simply wash away.

The self-cleaning technology uses both rain and UV light from the sun to efficiently combat dirt and grime that accumulates on the outside of the window, reducing the need for manual cleaning.

Available in Self-Cleaning Solar Neutral and Self-Cleaning Solar Blue.
